Karl Pawlik is a leader in the areas of Finance, Accounting, and Strategy. Karl brings over 20 years of experience from multiple markets and industries. Continued success has been achieved through a combination of applying strong analytical and big picture perspective, high levels of interpersonal agility, clear communication, business acumen, and professional flexibility.
Karl established his financial career working with Fortune 500 companies including Applied Materials and St. Jude Medical (now Abbott). With these companies he held various financial, and analytical roles at different levels across those organizations.
Karl expanded his career by leading the St. Jude Medical Strategic Market Analysis team for the Implantable Electronics Division. In this role, he led a team to establish meaningful sales forecast and key performance indicators, identified market values and submarket niches, created organizational strategy, and was a key member of cross functional business development teams that closed several significant acquisitions including CardioMems and NanoStim.
In 2013, Karl began to serve as a Finance and Strategy Consultant, specializing in working with startups and small businesses primarily in the Health Care, Medical Device, and the broader Life Sciences sectors. Karl led finance, accounting and operational teams for multiple organizations in various markets as a CFO and corporate officer. He enjoys working with entrepreneurs and their teams to develop a strong financial foundation, establish strategic and tactical plans, and helping founders and leadership teams work with investors to raise funds that fuel innovation.
Karl holds a Finance and Accounting double major bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and an M.B.A. from California State University at Northridge.
