Research Associate

NAKI Therapeutics is an innovative research-focused biopharmaceutical company.  Our core technology is surrounding Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR)-Natural Killer (NK) immunotherapy with ground-breaking allogeneic or ‘off-the-shelf’ expansion technology.

Responsibilities, includes but not limited to: 

  • Performs primary immune cell isolation and multi-parameter immunophenotyping by flow cytometry.
  • Performs retroviral (gamma retrovirus and/or lentiviral) transductions of primary T/NK cells and propagation.
  • Performs cell lines and primary cell culture
  • Executes assays to evaluate CAR-T/NK cell characteristics and function.
  • Performs mammalian cell culture and production of recombinant transient and stable mammalian cell lines.
  • Maintains detailed documentation of laboratory procedures and experiments.
  • Prepares data presentations for internal group meetings.
  • Comfortable and efficient in a fast-paced, dynamic, and growing environment

Qualifications:

  • B.S. with more than 2 years of experience in the field of Immunology, Cell Biology, or Cancer Biology, preferably in an industry setting
  • Understanding of immunology and adoptive cell therapy
  • Hands-on experience with T cell, NK cell, or other primary leukocyte culture. Previous experience with CAR-T or immunotherapy is preferred
  • In depth, hands-on experience with mammalian and primary immune cell culture establishment, expansion, and cell culture techniques: cell purification, cell activation, and cryopreservation

Scientist

NAKI Therapeutics is an innovative research-focused biopharmaceutical company.  Our core technology is surrounding Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR)-Natural Killer (NK) immunotherapy with ground-breaking allogeneic or ‘off-the-shelf’ expansion technology.

Responsibilities, includes but not limited to: 

  • Plan, design, and execute development of cell-based immunoassays characterizing and assessing CAR-T and CAR-NK functions
  • Plan, design, and execute in-vitro experiments to assess CAR-T and CAR-NK functions
  • Lymphocyte isolation and expansion, multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, and cytotoxic assays
  • Deliver scientific finders to internal and external stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of current literature/scientific advancements in the field
  • Contribute novel ideas or technologies
  • Supervisor routine laboratory work of junior team members
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, internally and externally
  • Assist with general laboratory management
  • Serve as major contributor for pipeline development

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Immunology, Cell biology, or closely related discipline
  • At least 2 years of Postdoc experience with T-cell and/or NK-cell immunology/oncology focus
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in oncology, cell biology, and immunology
  • Must have CAR-NK and/or NK cell experience
  • Expertise with genetic modifications
  • Experience with immunoassays such as cytotoxicity and cytokine release
  • Expert with flow cytometry, ELISA, and immune cell culturing
  • Demonstrated ability to execute complicated experiments and deliver results in a cross-functional environment
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, diversified environment
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency, desire to achieve, and flexibility
