Dr. Kumar is an Associate Professor of Radiology and the Chief of the division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. After completing his medical education at Texas Tech University in 2009, he completed his residency in Radiology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical school followed by a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology with dual certification in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.
Dr. Kumar’s heads a busy Interventional Oncology practice at Rutgers with a focus on treating primary liver cancer. His clinical and research interests include Interventional Oncology, Peripheral arterial disease, and venous thromboembolic disease. Dr. Kumar has lectured in numerous national and international Interventional Radiology meetings and published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. He is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, where he holds leadership positions in national committees.
