David Xu, PhD, MBA

Founder and CEO for AIxplorerBio, an AI powered, structure-based drug design and development biotech company. 

Before founding AIxplorerBio, he was the Chief Business Officer at Viva Biotech Holdings and Head of Viva BioInnovator, the investment unit in Viva.  During this time, he was responsible for investing over 50 biotech startups.   

Before joining Viva, Dr. Xu worked at Novartis Pharma (US) and Purdue Pharma (US) for over 20 years in various capacities, including Head of Specialty Products Franchise at Sandoz (a Novartis company) and Head of Marketing and New Product Planning at Purdue Pharma (US).
  

Dr. Xu was trained as a chemist with a BS degree from Peking University, a PhD degree from UCLA and a post-doc training at Scripps Research Institute.  He also holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania.
